A leading global athletic brand in Singapore is seeking a Strategic Account Director to manage relationships with key accounts and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in retail and commercial management, with a strong focus on strategic planning and cross-functional leadership. This role offers the opportunity to influence major retail outcomes and enhance brand presence in the Southeast Asia market.
The Director, Strategic Account – Southeast Asia & India (SEA&I) is part of Nike’s wholesale leadership team, reporting to the Senior Director of Sales. This role oversees relationships with key strategic accounts and connects our Global Strategic Partner to the Nike brand. Internally, the position works closely with teams in Sales, Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Legal, and Operations.
As the Strategic Account Director, Nike seeks a commercially minded leader with a strong understanding of the SEA&I retail landscape. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working with external customers and stakeholders, a deep knowledge of retail and wholesale, and proven success in leading cross-functional teams toward a shared vision.
The incumbent demonstrates confidence and expertise in creating, leading, and driving account strategies that extend Nike’s reach and elevate partner business in collaboration with our strategic account to better serve consumers. This individual is comfortable leading account conversations, interpreting commercial and retail metrics, and presenting to, influencing, and partnering with external retail leaders. Experience navigating internal stakeholders locally and globally to manage business results and strategy is essential.
This position requires a self‑motivated leader with strong retail, consumer‑centric, and commercial knowledge. The candidate must be a strategic problem‑solver with preferred experience in account management or retail leadership and the ability to deliver win‑win retail and commercial outcomes.
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant role or industry with a focus on Retail, Sales, Merchandising or similar.
Retail or commercial management and marketplace expertise in retail stores, sales, digital, product, partner management, and financial acumen will be highly regarded.
Understanding of the SEA&I sport and retail landscape; knowledge of sports apparel and footwear market is preferred.
High attention to detail and a proactive, solutions‑oriented approach.
Strong ability to partner, influence, and communicate effectively in a highly complex matrix environment with multiple business functions.
Comprehensive understanding of retail, business, and commercial metrics and KPIs, with the ability to interpret sales and analytics data to make decisions and recommendations that impact the business.
Your strategic thinking, retail and wholesale acumen, and ability to lead customer conversations will keep teams focused and engaged on clear processes, KPIs, and outcomes. In your role as Strategic Account Director, you will:
Build strong relationships with our strategic account at both store and head office levels to align on Nike’s strategic direction and ensure premium brand execution at retail.
Co‑create, own, and champion the Strategic Plan to drive growth, elevate the consumer experience in our partner stores, and expand brand presence and market share.
Lead cross‑functional and partner teams through seasonal Go‑To‑Market (GTM) processes and customer alignment to deliver seasonal priorities.
Drive sustainable, mutually profitable growth and strengthen Nike’s position within the retail landscape.
Deliver business results with direct accountability for key seasonal and fiscal year sales, revenue, and inventory metrics.
Collaborate and align retail and operational capabilities to achieve the integrated marketplace vision.
Own key processes including strategic planning, franchise contract management, seasonal sell‑in execution, trading terms, business performance reviews, proactive order book management, and growth alignment.
Lead, coach, and develop direct reports.
Note: At Nike, we’re committed to providing a fair and transparent application process for all applicants. Nike does not charge candidates any fees for recruitment or applications.
