We are looking for a highly motivated and technically skilled Senior Staff Application Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be a key technical interface between the local application engineering team and the global Technical Marketing and Product Line Management teams. You will validate and benchmark Infineon's power semiconductor solutions in real-world applications such as AI servers, EV charging systems, solar inverters, and consumer electronics, ensuring superior performance and competitiveness. You will also lead technical development initiatives, support go-to-market strategies, and mentor local engineers in technical and personal growth.
Job Description
- Act as the main technical support for the Technical Marketing team in Austria to validate product value propositions in customer systems during development projects.
- Serve as the local spokesperson to the product line management.
- Measure Infineon components as well as benchmark against competitors in applications such as SMPS for AI/Servers/Telecom, EV on-board and off-board chargers, residential solar inverters, energy storage, home appliances, chargers, and adapters.
- Drive tests of leading-edge and novel devices on specially designed boards to support the development and optimization of new technologies.
- Create new application test setups, including PCB design and test automation.
- Support go-to-market activities and product development.
- Provide guidance for local peers in technical and personal development.
- Organize, analyze data, and generate test reports.
- Contribute to peer reviews of internal development documents.
- Interface with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues requiring in-depth product knowledge.
- Engage with the Technical Marketing team to explore new technologies and cost-effective designs to gain competitive advantages.
Your Profile
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field from a university, university of applied sciences, or technical school.
- 5+ years of proven hands-on experience in an electrical engineering laboratory environment, including the use of lab equipment.
- Basic knowledge of semiconductors, especially Power MOSFETs.
- Experience in analyzing measurement data and presenting results to internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and provide guidance and technical training to team members.
- Basic programming skills, e.g., Matlab or Python.
- PCB Design skills (Allegro, Altium Designer) and the ability to review existing layouts are a plus.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
