Accountant (Maternity Cover 6 months)
Job summary
A prominent automotive company based in Malaysia is seeking an experienced accounting professional. The role involves preparing financial statements, managing compliance with statutory requirements, and improving accounting processes. Candidates should possess a degree in accounting or finance and at least 5 years of relevant experience, particularly in the automotive sector. Knowledge of the SAP FICO system and strong problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of working experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Ability to prepare and review financial statements and statutory reports.
- Knowledge of SST and corporate tax preparation.
Responsibilities
- Prepare journal entries and perform reconciliations.
- Provide stock valuation analysis and handle year-end stock take.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory reports.

Prepare & review income statement, balance sheet, trial balance, general ledger reconciliation, aging report & other listing
Prepare journal entries, CN, DN, receipts, verify supporting entries, reconciliation to creditors statement, perform bank reconciliation, inter-company and accounts reconciliations, fixed assets management & monitoring credit control and aged collection.
Provide stock valuation analysis, prepare monthly slow-moving stock & responsible for year-end stock take exercise.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholder to ensure timely preparation and submission of the local statutory reports to comply with Companies Act 2016, Income Tax Act and other relevant statutory requirements.
Support continuous improvement in current accounting processes and management reporting.
Knowledgeable in SST and corporate tax preparation & submission
Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Accounting / Finance or any Professional certification (CPA / ACCA / similar).
Min 5 year(s) working experience or similar role is required for this position, preferably in Automotive industry.
Working knowledge & experience of SAP FICO system required.
Responsible, possess good working attitude, time management skill and can meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and well in execution.
Diplomatic & tactful problem solver.
- Candidate who is able to join in January 2026 will be an added advantage.
- Willing to work on a temporary basis (6 months to 12 months-maternity cover)
- Willing to be based in Seksyen 28, Shah Alam, Selangor.
