Housekeeping Manager
Job summary
A leading hospitality company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the housekeeping team. Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas, and training new hires. Candidates should have 2-3 years of hotel housekeeping experience and strong attention to detail. Proficiency in English and Malay is required, while Mandarin is a plus. This role may require shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment.
- Prior team lead experience is preferred.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide floor team leaders and room attendants.
- Inspect guest rooms and public areas for cleanliness.
- Provide training and coaching to housekeeping staff.
Skills
Education
- Supervise and guide floor team leaders, room attendants, and public area attendants in their daily tasks.
- Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet hotel standards.
- Assist in organizing daily work schedules, staff deployment and task allocation.
- Support the implementation of housekeeping standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Provide training and coaching to new and existing housekeeping staff.
- Handle guest requests, complaints, and special room arrangements in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist in inventory control of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
- Prepare daily inspection reports, handover logs, and housekeeping records.
- Handle housekeeping staff attendance.
- Coordinate with outsource companies regarding foreigners matters.
- Coordinate and follow up with Engineering Team on defect rectification progress, keep defect list updated.
- Coordinate with Front Office Team on VIP room assignment and inspection.
- Prepare and keep track of purchase request list, follow up with Purchasing Department.
- Ensure all staff comply with hotel policies, grooming standards and hygiene practices.
- Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or Housekeeping Management is a plus.
- At least 2-3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, with prior team lead experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
- Familiarity with hotel housekeeping procedures and safety standards.
- Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
- Proficient in English and Malay; Mandarin is an advantage.
