Private Residence Home Tutor (Location: Ipoh, Perak)
We are seeking a responsible, well‑organized, and caring Home Tutor cum Household Manager to support a private household. This role combines academic tutoring for children with overall household management responsibilities, ensuring a well‑structured learning environment and smooth daily household operations. This role is based at the family residence in Ipoh, Perak, during office hours.
Key Responsibilities
Home Tutor Duties
- Provide academic tutoring to children based on the assigned syllabus (e.g. Cambridge IGCSE or equivalent).
- Communicate progress updates to parents regularly.
- Coordinate and monitor the children’s daily routines, including school schedules, learning activities, tuition classes, and enrichment programmes.
- Liaise with school teachers, tutors, and enrichment providers to track academic progress and schedules.
- Supervise homework completion, revision routines, and study discipline.
- Ensure a structured, conducive learning environment at home.
- Monitor academic progress and provide regular updates to parents.
- Support examination and school‑related coordination, including timetables and key academic milestones.
Household Management Duties
- Oversee daily household operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
- Coordinate household schedules, routines, and activities.
- Supervise and coordinate housekeepers, security personnel, gardener, etc.
- Manage household supplies, basic purchasing, and inventory.
- Liaise with vendors, maintenance personnel, and service providers when required.
- Ensure household rules, cleanliness, and organization standards are maintained.
- Maintain open, clear communication with the family regarding household matters.
- Perform other administrative duties as required from time to time.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Education or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience as a home tutor, teacher, or private educator.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and time‑management skills.
- Familiarity with the Cambridge IGCSE syllabus is required.
- Experience in household management or similar roles is a plus.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, responsible, trustworthy, and child‑friendly.
- Discreet, trustworthy, and respectful of confidentiality and family privacy.
- Proactive, dependable, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willing to be based at the employer’s residence in Ipoh, Perak.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 10.30 am to 7.30 pm.
- Saturday: Half day (9.00 am to 1.00 pm or 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm, on a rotational basis).
- Occasional weekend or public holiday work may be required; replacement rest days will be provided accordingly.
