Job summary

A leading hospitality company in Johor Bahru is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee the housekeeping team. Responsibilities include supervising staff, ensuring cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas, and training new hires. Candidates should have 2-3 years of hotel housekeeping experience and strong attention to detail. Proficiency in English and Malay is required, while Mandarin is a plus. Responsibilities
  • Supervise and guide floor team leaders, room attendants, and public area attendants in their daily tasks.
  • Inspect guest rooms, corridors, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and maintenance meet hotel standards.
  • Assist in organizing daily work schedules, staff deployment and task allocation.
  • Support the implementation of housekeeping standards and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide training and coaching to new and existing housekeeping staff.
  • Handle guest requests, complaints, and special room arrangements in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in inventory control of linens, cleaning supplies, and guest amenities.
  • Prepare daily inspection reports, handover logs, and housekeeping records.
  • Handle housekeeping staff attendance.
  • Coordinate with outsource companies regarding foreigners matters.
  • Coordinate and follow up with Engineering Team on defect rectification progress, keep defect list updated.
  • Coordinate with Front Office Team on VIP room assignment and inspection.
  • Prepare and keep track of purchase request list, follow up with Purchasing Department.
  • Ensure all staff comply with hotel policies, grooming standards and hygiene practices.
Job Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality or Housekeeping Management is a plus.
  • At least 2-3 years of housekeeping experience in a hotel environment, with prior team lead experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness standards.
  • Familiarity with hotel housekeeping procedures and safety standards.
  • Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Proficient in English and Malay; Mandarin is an advantage.
