SENIOR R&D EXECUTIVE
Job summary
A packaging solutions company in Malaysia is seeking a qualified individual for product development responsibilities. The role involves collaborating with management and the R&D team to discuss product ideas and conducting market research. Candidates should possess a Professional Certificate or Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, and ideally have 1-3 years of experience in the packaging industry. This position emphasizes problem-solving and analytical skills while overseeing the production process.
Qualifications
- Must possess relevant qualifications in Mechanical, Chemical, or Polymer Engineering.
- Good analytical and statistical analysis skills required.
- 1-3 years experience in the packaging industry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Meet with management and R&D to discuss product ideas.
- Conduct market research on similar products.
- Collaborate on product feasibility with engineering.
- Redesign products for better functionality and cost.
- Create design projects and specification sheets.
- Present designs to management and stakeholders.
- Oversee engineering of product prototypes.
- Test prototypes for functionality and longevity.
- Resolve product issues and oversee production process.
- Enhance efficiency using automation and data analytics.
- Follow up on R&D project timelines.

Education
- Meeting with business management, marketing, and the R&D team to discuss product ideas.
- Conducting market research and evaluating similar products and their functions.
- Collaborating with the engineering and marketing department on product feasibility.
- Redesigning existing products to enhance functionality or reduce costs.
- Creating design projects and specification sheets.
- Presenting product designs to management and stakeholders.
- Overseeing the engineering of product prototypes.
- Testing prototype products for functionality, ease-of-use, and longevity.
- Resolving product issues.
- Overseeing the production process.
- Enhance process efficiency through automation and data analytics.
- Follow up on the timeline of R&D projects to ensure completion within stipulated timeline.
- Must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Professional Degree in Mechanical, Applied Science, Chemical& Polymer Engineering or equivalent
- Good analytical and statistical analysis skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Preferably 1- 3 years related working experience in packaging industry.
