SurplusLoop is a new startup born out of Antler’s Venture Capital Accelerator Program in April 2024. After securing pre-seed investment from Antler in June 2024, we were officially incorporated on 3 July 2024 and successfully commercialized in September 2024. With operations kicking off in January 2025, SurplusLoop is poised for rapid growth and creating impact in the surplus management space. You’ll lead business development, drive strategic B2B relationships, and spark demand across both the supply (sellers) and demand (buyers) sides of our platform. JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Business Development
  • You are the hunter, strategist, and closer—fuelling our supply and demand flywheel.
  • Identify and onboard large enterprises with idle, surplus, or obsolete assets
  • Explore industry verticals such as Manufacturing, Logistics, ripe for circular transition
  • Unlock strategic partnerships with recyclers, resellers, refurbishers, logistics partners
  • Lead pitch meetings, tender submissions, partnership decks, and RFPs
  • Build a solid pipeline of corporate & enterprise sellers using data and hustle
  • Evangelize the value of AI + Circularity to transform asset disposal from cost to profit
  1. Account Management
  • You are the trusted advisor and long-game relationship builder.
  • Manage post-sale accounts with corporate and enterprise sellers
  • Drive seller adoption, optimize platform usage, and upsell new value-added features
  • Ensure smooth asset listing-to-transaction flows and maximize sellers success metrics
  • Collect feedback loops to help improve platform UI/UX and overall experience
  • Be proactive in solving issues, removing friction, and unlocking new opportunities
  • Serve as the voice of the sellers internally
  1. Sales & Buyer Handling
  • You are the deal-maker that closes the loop.
  • Source, qualify, and close B2B buyers for a wide range of surplus asset categories
  • Build buyer segmentation based on asset type, buying behaviour, and recovery rates
  • Handle complex sales cycles—price negotiation, terms discussion, and closing
  • Run end-to-end deal execution, often multiple concurrent transactions
  • Collaborate with product team to optimize AI matching engine with real buyer insights
  • Ensure buyers get real value and repeat—turn transactions into relationships
  1. Marketing
  • You are the engine of demand and awareness across both sides of the platform.
  • Design and execute growth campaigns targeting corporate sellers and verified buyers
  • Build compelling case studies, success stories, and use cases around surplus
  • Manage content, email, performance, and growth channels tailored to B2B personas
  • Track metrics like CAC, LTV, MQL-to-SQL conversion, and ROI across funnel
  • Position SurplusLoop as the category leader in reverse commerce
  • Experiment boldly—because in startups, speed beats perfection
  1. Communication
  • You are the voice and narrative architect of SurplusLoop.
  • Craft powerful messaging across decks, emails, web, socials, and investor comms
  • Translate complex AI-powered surplus matching or carbon impact into human terms
  • Own internal & external communication frameworks—transparency, and authenticity
  • Maintain a consistent and confident tone that aligns with brand values
  • Be the glue across teams, making sure we talk like a startup but act like pros
  1. Branding
  • You are the guardian of our identity and perception.
  • Build a brand that is bold, trustworthy, modern, and mission-led
  • Shape how enterprises and buyers see SurplusLoop—AI + Circular = Smart + Sustainable
  • Ensure every touchpoint like platform, pitch, post, product speaks one language
  • Drive thought leadership through blogs, whitepapers, panels, and media
  • Develop brand playbooks, tone guides, and core storytelling frameworks
  1. Operations
  • You are the orchestrator of seamless execution.
  • Streamline asset intake, listing, pricing, and buyer transaction flows
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and corporate functions
  • Own the KPIs across listing-to-sale cycle, transaction velocity, and recovery rates
  • Ensure compliance, documentation, and traceability in asset movement
  • Optimize internal SOPs using data, automation, and a “get-things-done” mindset
  1. Customer Service
  • You are the human touchpoint in an AI-powered experience.
  • Support both buyers and sellers throughout the transaction lifecycle
  • Solve queries fast and delight users even faster
  • Develop help desk, chatbot, and support knowledge bases
  • Turn complaints into insights and insights into improvements
  • Be the human behind the AI—empathetic, responsive, and empowered

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 3+ years in fast-paced business development, sales, growth, or marketing roles
  • Proven ability to manage B2B client relationships—both strategic and tactical

  • Passionate about reverse commerce, sustainability, and the circular economy
  • Strong belief in big visions and the ability to sell the dream while building it

  • Highly organized and structured, with the ability to bring clarity to chaos
  • Agile and adaptive—you love change, embrace uncertainty, and know when to pivot
  • Data-driven decision-maker, but not paralyzed by perfection—you move fast
  • Experienced in managing end-to-end sales pipelines and CRM tools
  • Familiarity with platform or marketplace models is a bonus
  • Excellent multitasking and time management skills
  • Fluency in English, Malay, and Chinese is a must
