Job summary
A leading semiconductor company in Kedah is seeking a Chemical Analyst Technician to conduct routine chemical testing and monitor surface treatment processes. The successful candidate will maintain accuracy and compliance with quality standards, while supporting production through chemical analysis and reporting. A Diploma in Chemistry or a related field is required, along with strong analytical skills and familiarity with surface treatment processes. Previous experience in a lab environment is an advantage.

- Diploma/Certificate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry, titration, and chemical concentration analysis.
- Ability to read and follow SOP, SDS and process specifications.
- Experience in surface treatment or chemical lab environment is an advantage.

The Chemical Analyst Technician is responsible for conducting routine chemical testing, monitoring chemical bath conditions, and ensuring all surface treatment processes (such as anodizing, plating, coating, etching) comply with quality and safety standards. The role supports production by maintaining chemical accuracy, stability and documentation of all analytical results.
- Perform routine chemical analyses for plating baths, anodizing tanks, etching solutions, degreasers, and rinsing systems.
- Conduct titration, pH measurement, conductivity testing, hardness and concentration checks.
- Ensure chemical baths meet required specifications before releasing for production use.
- Monitor chemical contamination, depletion rates, and carry out adjustments according to SOP.
- Track bath performance and stability; record chemical usage trends.
- Assist in chemical replenishment, bath make‑up, and solution disposal following guidelines.
- Support production by giving timely chemical condition updates.
- Ensure calibration of measuring tools and lab equipment is up to date.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all chemical analysis results.
- Prepare daily/weekly chemical analysis reports for engineering and production teams.
- Report any abnormalities, out‑of‑spec conditions, or potential process risks immediately.
- Ensure all chemical handling follows ISO, internal SOPs, and customer requirements.
- Support root cause investigations for chemical‑related quality issues.
- Participate in 5S, continuous improvement activities, and chemical waste segregation.
- Handle chemicals safely with proper PPE and training.
- Follow EHS standards for hazardous material storage, spill control, and waste disposal.
- Conduct periodic safety checks and support chemical risk assessments.
- Diploma/Certificate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Material Science or related field.
- Knowledge of basic chemistry, titration, and chemical concentration analysis.
- Ability to read and follow SOP, SDS and process specifications.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficient in basic computer tools (Excel, data entry systems).
- Good communication with production and engineering teams.
- Experience in surface treatment or chemical lab environment is an advantage.
- Familiarity with surface treatment processes (anodizing, plating, etching, passivation) is an advantage.
