A construction company in Selangor is looking for a Purchasing Officer to manage procurement activities. This role involves negotiating with suppliers, conducting product research, and ensuring quality and timely deliveries. Candidates should have 5-7 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry and a relevant diploma or degree. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required, and knowledge of Mandarin is advantageous. Strong negotiation, administrative skills, and the ability to multitask are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
Plan, control and monitor the implementation of daily purchasing activities.
Conduct product research and sourcing new suppliers and negotiating the most cost- effective deals.
Proactive in evaluating existing or reliable vendors and suppliers in terms of their consistency of quality / on time deliveries and competitive pricing while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.
Coordinate / liaise with related departments / project sites on order status, delivery time and cost control.
Report and work closely with the Head of Dept to develop and implement procurement strategies.
What we need from you:
Possess SPM / Diploma / Degree in Business Administration / Supply Chain / Procurement or any related field.
Minimum 5-7 years of purchasing experience in the construction industry.
Strong negotiation / administrative skills, a high level of discipline and efficiency.
Ability to work independently, to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meeting datelines.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Well versed in Microsoft Office.
Required languages: Bahasa Malaysia & English. Knowledge of Mandarin is of added advantages.
