Job Purpose

The Wireman is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring systems within the golf course grounds, including clubhouses, irrigation systems, and other electrical infrastructures. This role ensures that all electrical systems on the golf course function properly and safely to support daily operations.

Job Responsibilities

1. Installation of Electrical Systems:
2. Install wiring for lighting systems on the golf course, including pathway lights, landscape lighting, and floodlights for evening play.
3. Maintain electrical systems for irrigation, ensuring efficient operation of sprinklers and watering schedules.
4. Install and maintain wiring for maintenance offices and other facilities.

1. Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
2. Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of electrical systems in the clubhouse, maintenance areas, and golf course grounds.
3. Diagnose and repair faulty wiring, malfunctioning circuits, and electrical issues across the course.
4. Address electrical issues related to golf course equipment, such as automated systems and water feature pumps.

1. Golf Course Infrastructure:
2. Install and maintain wiring for clubhouse landscape lighting.
3. Ensure all electrical systems are fully operational.
4. Assist with wiring and setup for events, including special lighting or temporary electrical installations.

1. Safety and Compliance:
2. Ensure all electrical work complies with safety codes and local regulations.
3. Implement safety protocols when working with high-voltage equipment or outdoors.
4. Use appropriate PPE and adhere to safety standards in various weather conditions.

1. Collaboration with Maintenance Team:
2. Work closely with golf course maintenance personnel to ensure proper installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
3. Communicate effectively with management regarding electrical needs or upgrades for operations or events.

1. Upgrades and Renovations:
2. Assist in upgrading or expanding electrical infrastructure during course renovations or expansion.
3. Recommend and implement energy-efficient systems, such as LED lighting or automated irrigation and lighting systems.

1. Documentation and Reporting:
2. Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and electrical layouts.
3. Prepare reports on electrical system conditions and suggest improvements or upgrades to management.

Minimum Requirements

• Wireman Certification or equivalent is typically required.
• Certification or apprenticeship in electrical work or wireman-specific training (vocational programs).
• Some experience in wiring installation or similar roles is preferred.
