Payroll Specialist (HR SSC)
Job summary
A multinational HR solutions provider is seeking a skilled HR Payroll Specialist to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of payroll services. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in payroll and possess a diploma or degree in Human Resources or a related field. This role requires collaboration with stakeholders, mentoring of team leads, and a keen focus on operational excellence. Candidates with SAP or Workday experience are preferred. The position is based in George Town, Penang.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in payroll or a similar HR role.
- Proven track record in HR Generalist/ HR Services/ HR Operations.
- Experience with SAP or Workday is an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate HR Payroll services as per SLAs.
- Identify opportunities to optimize resources and automate workflows.
- Monitor performance metrics and troubleshoot data issues.
- Mentor and guide team leads within the HR support team.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.

- Ensure timely, accurate delivery of HR Payroll services that meet SLAs, comply with relevant country-specific employment laws, and adhere to internal policies.
- Drive operational excellence by identifying opportunities to optimize resources, automate workflows, and streamline HR Payroll processes.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver responsive, customer-focused HR solutions.
- Monitor performance metrics, troubleshoot data or process issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain service standards.
- Lead knowledge management initiatives by capturing best practices and promoting continuous learning within the team.
- Mentor and guide Team Leads to build a high-performing, empowered HR support team.
- Support senior leadership with ad-hoc projects and provide subject matter expertise when needed.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships through regular service reviews and issue resolution.
- Participate in cross-functional initiatives and offer backup support to ensure seamless service continuity.
- Partner with the department head on workforce planning, talent development, and recruitment to support long-term operational success.
- A diploma/degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration or in any relevant disciplines.
- At least 3 - 5 year of working exposure or experience in payroll or experience in a similar role will have an advantage - HR Generalist/ HR Services/ HR Operations..etc.
- Candidate with experience in SAP / Workday would be an added advantage.
- Willing to be based at Georgetown, Penang
