Robertson Sumner is partnering with an award-winning Microsoft Solutions Partner to find a Head of Sales / Sales Director who will play a pivotal role in driving commercial growth and expanding the sales function. This is an exciting opportunity to join a financially stable, fast-growing technology business with ambitious plans to scale to a £10M turnover within the next five years.

The Company

Founded in 2017, this innovative Microsoft partner specialises in designing and developing bespoke CRM and business solutions, leveraging Microsoft Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. With a strong financial position, no external investment, and a focus on long-term planning, the business has seen consistent, organic growth. Currently employing 28 people, the company aims to expand to 32 heads by 2025 and 80 by 2029.

With a well-established market presence and a strong pipeline of organic leads, the business is now looking to strengthen its sales function and accelerate expansion in the Power Platform space.

The Role

The Head of Sales will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing commercial sales team. Initially operating as an individual contributor, the role will evolve into a leadership position, developing a strategic sales function and driving customer acquisition across SME and mid-sized organisations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced sales leader to take ownership of the sales strategy, establish key account management processes, and drive long-term revenue growth. With a well-established marketing team in place generating inbound leads, the focus will be on optimising lead conversion, strategic partnerships, and targeted business development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a sales strategy aligned with the company’s ambitious growth plans.
  • Lead business development initiatives, focusing on SME and mid-sized organisations.
  • Build and mentor a commercial sales team, ensuring strong performance and career development.
  • Define and execute an account management strategy to drive client expansion.
  • Support Power Platform and Microsoft Dynamics 365 growth initiatives, including the company’s Co-Pilot offering.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to refine automation and lead generation strategies.
  • Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
  • Forecast revenue and drive operational excellence in pipeline and CRM management.

Key Requirements

  • A proven track record in a senior sales leadership role, ideally within a Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Power Platform environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience scaling sales teams and driving revenue growth.
  • Expertise in B2B sales within SME and mid-market segments.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term growth plans.
  • Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in business development, account management, and lead conversion strategies.
