We're looking for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a fire suppression project on a large whisky production site in South Scotland. The role involves managing a small team of 6 sprinkler and deluge engineers (4 permanent and 2 subcontractors) on behalf of the main contractor. You'll be responsible for coordinating daily site operations, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with project timelines and quality standards.
- Day-to-day management of all site activities related to fire suppression system installation
- Supervising a mixed team of engineers (permanent and contract staff)
- Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Coordinating with other trades and contractors on site
- Monitoring progress, quality, and materials usage
- Conducting daily briefings and toolbox talks
- Reporting updates to the project manager and maintaining site records
- SMSTS certification - essential
- Proven experience managing fire protection, sprinkler, or mechanical installation projects
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to manage a small site team effectively and maintain productivity
- Good understanding of construction H&S regulations
- Experience working on industrial or commercial projects (construction site environment)
- Full UK driving licence
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm
- Overtime: Available and can be arranged as needed
