Role Overview

As the Lead Designer, you will oversee the creative and technical aspects of our activewear collections, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance, functionality, and aesthetics. You will lead a talented team, collaborate across departments, and bring fresh, innovative designs that align with SQUATWOLF’s identity while staying ahead of market trends. This role requires a strong technical sportswear design background, leadership skills, and an eye for both creativity and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Creative Direction & Design
    • Lead the full design process for men's and women's activewear, from concept to final product.
    • Research and incorporate trends, fabrics, and innovations in performance wear to keep SQUATWOLF competitive.
    • Ensure designs reflect the brand identity while offering functionality, comfort, and style.
    • Work closely with development and sourcing teams to ensure feasibility and efficient production.
  2. Leadership & Collaboration
    • Manage and mentor the design team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and skill development.
    • Oversee workflow, timelines, and deliverables to ensure seamless execution.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Merchandising, Marketing, and Production teams.
    • Present design concepts and collections to senior leadership and ensure alignment with business goals.
  3. Product Development & Innovation
    • Refine fits, fabrications, and garment construction with technical teams.
    • Implement sustainable and innovative design approaches.
    • Stay updated with new materials, construction techniques, and technologies to enhance performance and quality.

Key Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in activewear/sportswear design, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in both men’s and women’s activewear design.
  • Deep understanding of performance fabrics, garment construction, and technical innovations.
  • Experience working with sourcing and production teams to bring designs to life.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and inspire designers.
  • High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CLO 3D, or other relevant design software.
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability, designing products that perform well in both function and market demand.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience presenting designs to senior leadership.
