Crew Training Manager
Based in Abu Dhabi
Purpose of the position:
The Crew Training Manager ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant training of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi's flight and cabin crew. As the Nominated Post Holder for Training, the role oversees training policies, instructor qualifications, and regulatory adherence, collaborating with key stakeholders to maintain high safety and proficiency standards.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Fulfilling the duties of Nominated Post Holder Training as defined by the GCAA.
- Implementing the policy standards and procedures of the Wizz Air Abu Dhabi OM D into all training, examination, and checking in contact with the Accountable Manager.
- Ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of all Wizz Air pilot and cabin crew training in accordance with relevant Civil Aviation Regulations.
- Ensuring operations remain compliant with applicable regulations.
- Enabling the safe conduct of all flights.
- Ensuring all instructors are suitably qualified to conduct training.
- Informing the Authority about training policies, norms, and standards.
- Coordinating flight safety and operational training with the CP and instructors.
- Having training performed according to the Wizz Air flight safety policy in coordination with the Manager of Safety, Compliance, and Security.
- Setting the training policy in coordination with the Chief Pilot.
- In cooperation with the Chief Pilot, Chief Cabin Crew, Cabin Crew Training Manager, and instructors, setting standards for flight and cabin crew training in accordance with regulations and UAE Civil Aviation law.
- Ensuring the availability of qualified instructors and examiners.
- Ensuring sufficient training aids, facilities, and contracted courses.
- Standardizing training across all Wizz Air aircraft as practicable, in concert with the CP.
- Providing leadership to the Cabin Crew Training Manager as line manager.
- Overseeing third-party training organizations.
- Representing Wizz Air Abu Dhabi in relevant industry bodies.
- Ensuring effective interoperability within Wizz Air Group companies.
Authorities of the function:
The Crew Training Manager has the authority to:
- Standardize training for all Wizz Air aircraft in coordination with the NP FO.
- Inform the Authority about training policies, norms, and standards.
- Appoint and discharge training and checking personnel.
- Temporarily revoke crew member qualifications pending requalification or investigation.
- Extend or amend training plans according to OM part D.
Requirements:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years of management experience and 5 years in aviation (experience in low-cost airline environment is advantageous).
- Valid Flight Crew Licence with appropriate type ratings for Wizz Air Abu Dhabi operations.
- Instructor Certificate and/or Examiner Authorization relevant to required type ratings.
- Previous managerial experience in Commercial Air Transport (preferred).
- Eligibility and acceptance by the UAE Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
