PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
We are seeking a Supply Chain Finance Manager to join our growing Logistics team. This role provides senior financial leadership and partnership across supply chain and logistics, ensuring robust financial governance, accurate budgeting and forecasting, and actionable performance insights. The manager is accountable for driving cost efficiency, enabling informed decision-making, and aligning supply chain operations with business financial goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, track, and report on KPIs such as R/kg, Cost-to-serve, Fleet utilization and efficiency, Overtime and labor efficiency, Stock losses, shrinkage, and expiries, Warehouse productivity. Analyze trends, provide actionable insights, and drive corrective actions to improve financial and operational performance.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Setup and issue of store expense reporting (P&L), identify trends and leading indicators for overspending, create margin expense management strategies, assist in cost allocations, and report on capital expenses. Deliver decision-ready reports for Executive Committee, highlighting risks, opportunities, and benefits.
- Governance & Financial Controls: Implement governance frameworks for key cost areas including overtime, fleet, and inventory losses. Apply exception-based reporting to highlight risks in shrinkage, labor efficiency, and resource utilization. Maintain strong financial controls ensuring compliance with audit requirements across all supply chain functions.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Scenario Planning: Lead the annual budgeting cycle for all supply chain and logistics cost centers. Prepare rolling forecasts considering volume shifts, labor demand, route changes, and warehouse needs. Provide early-warning insights and recommend corrective actions for cost overruns or service risks.
- Financial Business Case Development: Develop financial business cases to support major initiatives such as fleet leasing vs ownership, warehouse and fleet expansion evaluations, and strategic project ROI modeling. Partner with project leads to ensure financial rigor in initiatives like the National Network Optimization and Warehouse of the Future.
- Systems, Data & Reporting Automation: Oversee automation of supply chain reporting, support deployment of WMS, barcode scanning, and automated clocking systems to improve data integrity. Maintain and enhance cost-to-serve models to support pricing and customer profitability decisions. Support system selection processes for new WMS, ERP, and inventory software.
- People & Labour Productivity Metrics: Measure and report on cases per labor hour, overtime utilization, absenteeism, and underperformance. Align incentive schemes and labor efficiency initiatives with financial goals. Support seasonal labor planning and union engagement strategies with financial insights.
- Weekly & Monthly Performance Reporting: Deliver accurate weekly/monthly reports, including root cause analysis and action plans to address performance gaps.
- Continuous Improvement & Business Projects: Provide financial oversight and tracking for projects, reporting on benefits against baseline metrics.
- People & Culture: Champion the Ho Hola culture of transparency, accountability, and execution. Drive performance management processes aligned with business objectives.
