Job summary
A leading equipment maintenance provider in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Forklift & MEWP Technician. We’re seeking a qualified and experienced Forklift & MEWP Technician to maintain and repair a wide range of lifting and access equipment. If you're skilled with forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts, or cherry pickers, plant, and machinery — we’d love to hear from you.
- Service, repair, and maintain forklifts and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs).
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic).
- Respond to field service call-outs and breakdowns.
- Complete detailed job cards and service reports.
- Ensure compliance with safety, OEM, and company standards.
- OEM Certification or Red Seal Trade Test (Diesel / Auto-Electrical / Millwright).
- Minimum 3–5 years’ hands-on experience with:
- Forklifts (diesel, LPG, electric)
- MEWPs (scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers)
- Earth Moving Equipment
- Valid driver’s license (Code 08 or higher).
- Ability to work independently and travel to client sites.
- Strong diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
- Familiarity with brands such as Niftylift, Genie, JLG, Haulotte, Skyjack, Toyota, Crown, Hyster, Manitou, Caterpillar, JCB.
- IPAF or working-at-height certification.
- Background in rental fleets, mining, or construction machinery support.
