As the GM of Maintenance and Projects, you will spearhead engineering maintenance, project execution, and technical governance within a high-risk processing environment. You will lead a multidisciplinary team managing fixed plant maintenance, shutdown execution, and CAPEX projects, ensuring asset reliability, compliance, and cost efficiency.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Essential)
• Government Certificate of Competency (Factories or Mines & Works) (Essential)
• Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
• MBA, MBL, or Postgraduate Qualification in Engineering / Operations Management (Advantageous)

• 15+ years in chemical, metallurgical, or heavy industrial plants (sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, smelters, refineries, etc.)
• 8+ years in senior leadership within maintenance or engineering
• Proven success in CAPEX projects
• R50 million in a processing plant context
• Demonstrated expertise in plant reliability, statutory inspections, and shutdown execution
• Strong experience engaging with regulators, unions, and OEMs in high-risk environments

• Develop and execute maintenance strategies for critical acid plant infrastructure
• Enhance plant reliability through predictive maintenance and asset integrity management
• Lead CAPEX and operational projects, ensuring risk control and contractor performance
• Ensure engineering governance and regulatory compliance
• Oversee shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency maintenance management
• Optimize OPEX and CAPEX budgets, driving cost-saving initiatives
