Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is searching for a Lead Mechanical Engineer in Centurion, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will possess a BEng or Masters in Engineering with specialization in Mechanical/Structural Design, and at least 10 years of proven leadership experience in the field. Familiarity with defence and aerospace standards is crucial. This full-time position offers an opportunity to act as a design authority and collaborate with executive leadership. Lead Mechanical Engineer vacancy in Centurion. BEng or Masters degree in Engineering specialising in Mechanical/Structural Design, Antenna Design or RF Electronics. Minimum 10 years of proven leadership. Familiarity with defence/aerospace standards.
- Act as the design authority for your discipline leading complex system designs and ensuring technical excellence
- Guide and review design activities to ensure compliance, manufacturability and performance integrity
- Provide technical mentorship and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation
- Support opportunity evaluation, feasibility studies and bid development
- Collaborate with other Chief Engineers and executive leadership to align technical strategy with company objectives
- Drive research process improvement and intellectual property generation
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, specialising in Mechanical/Structural Design, Antenna Theory or RF Electronics/Firmware.
- 10 years of relevant engineering experience with proven technical leadership
- Recognised subject matter expert in your discipline (e.g. structural mechanics)
- Strong familiarity with defence and aerospace standards (MIL-STD, STANAG, IEC, ISO)
- Proficient in MS Office
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, FEKO, HFSS, CST or similar simulation and analysis tools (Beneficial)
