Main Purpose of The Role

We are looking for a General Manager who will oversee the portfolio for Telco & Special Projects and establishing a white glove solution for DSV. The role requires strategic leadership to drive customer retention, new business development, and cross-silo collaboration, ensuring revenue generation, value creation and deliver of innovative, technologically enabled last‑mile logistics solutions.

Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ end‑to‑end Supply Chain and/or Telecommunications industry experience.
  • Proven track record managing account managers with responsibility of customer retention and new business growth in local market.
  • Strong leadership and strategic management capabilities.
  • Expertise in tender processes and solution formulation.
  • Experience engaging with internal EXCO members.
  • Presentation skills.
Electives
  • Leadership coaching experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of telecommunications and white glove industry.
  • Previous history of managing special projects in the logistics industry.
Computer packages
  • DSV Specific Office Automation Systems (Advanced).
Qualifications
  • Matric (Essential).
  • Tertiary qualification, degree or diploma.
  • Own vehicle, driver’s license, ability to work overtime and travel nationally.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership across Telco portfolio and special projects.
  • Establish White glove services (new revenue stream) responsible for secure handling of servers to the Tech industry (Data Centers) with further expansion into the specialized movements of sensitive equipment for other industries / verticals.
  • Drive customer retention initiatives and develop new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate across other DSV business units to deliver integrated Cross‑silo logistics solutions.
  • Respond to Tenders, RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs, formulating tailored logistical solutions related to Telco brands and bids associated with special projects and white glove solutions.
  • Manage commercials and account management activities associated with specialized projects including IEC and hi‑tech solutions, with warehousing and on‑demand shipping under strict SLA adherence.
  • Lead annual increase negotiations and ensure contractual governance.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders within and outside the organization effectively to drive growth and efficiencies.
  • Strong understanding of financials, Profit & Loss statements, budgeting, as well as an understanding of revenue and EBIT drivers.
