The Role Experienced autonomous professional responsible for improving technical alignment, health, and engineering practices within SEEK Group Engineering teams. Develop software in product/platform teams while coaching junior engineers and delivering user-centric, scalable solutions.
The Team Cross-functional, multi-disciplinary squads within APAC matrix structure serving internal/external customers (Candidate, Hirer, AIPS, Technology Platforms). Work with engineers of all levels, Engineering Managers, Product Managers, Data Engineers, Business Analysts, UX/Visual Designers, and Data Analysts.
Key Accountabilities
Build
- Guide engineers in building, testing, deploying software from development to production
- Improve platform health ensuring reliable, resilient, efficient systems
- Drive software development strengthening engineering best practices
- Build highly scalable, performant cloud-first software aligned with SEEK's technology strategy

- Write clean, well-tested, readable software using secure coding practices
- Improve quality, engineering discipline, and team capability
- Strengthen Agile delivery and secure coding practices
- Provide operational support including on-call duties

Essential Requirements
- Experience creating/maintaining software in 2+ modern languages
- Cloud-first (AWS) application design, development, and support experience
- API, logging, monitoring/alerting experience
- Strong CI/CD, Design Patterns, and Data Modelling experience
- Modern development practices (TDD, BDD, Clean Code)
- Operational support and on-call experience
- Data-driven decision making
- Knowledge sharing and mentoring experience
Desirable
- Leadership experience in software engineering teams
