SENIOR MANAGER- APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT (IT)
Job summary
A leading enterprise in water management in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Senior Manager for Application Development. This role involves overseeing operations, managing client relationships, and leading a team to enhance IT services. Candidates must have a degree in IT and at least 10 years of experience, with strong skills in both Bahasa Malaysia and English. Competitive remuneration offered.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of working experience.
- At least 3 years managing IT projects.
- Experience in software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Head of Department in setting direction and reporting activities.
- Oversee operations and maintenance of application systems.
- Manage development and support of application systems including intranet and databases.
- Lead innovation to enhance business efficiency and reduce costs.
- Manage client relationships and vendor management.
Skills
Education
Assist the Head of Department in setting direction, priorities and reporting activities for the Application Development section.
Oversee operations and maintenance of all application systems, including troubleshooting, backups, archiving and user support.
Prepare and manage the section’s business plan and budget, ensuring cost effectiveness and compliance.
Manage development, change control processes and support of application systems (including intranet, SharePoint, web applications and databases).
Lead innovation and improvement initiatives to enhance business efficiency and reduce operational costs.
Ensure proper management of information, data and records in adherence to security, confidentiality and regulatory requirements.
Maintain an up to date business system continuity plan and ensure backup and recovery procedures are effective.
Establish and maintain IT standards, SOPs and plans for current and future technology needs.
Manage internal client relationships, ensuring excellent communication, satisfaction, and service delivery.
Oversee vendor management, including system purchases, licensing and maintenance agreements.
Lead and develop the Application Development team, ensuring performance, growth, and alignment with company goals.
Manage the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, implementation and post-support.
Manage and ensure the integrity of application servers and databases.
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from a recognized University.
Minimum 10 years of working experience, with at least 3 years managing IT projects.
Possess relevant technical knowledge with good supervisory and decision making skills.
Good command of both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English.
Good interpersonal skills and personality.
