Job description

Responsibilities

• Oversee the engineering department, including costing review, design review, process engineering, machine maintenance and technical support.
• Lead and mentor the team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.

Project Oversight

• Plan and manage engineering projects, ensuring timely delivery and cost-efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions.

Process and Product Development

• Guide product development processes, ensuring manufacturability and compliance with specifications.
• Optimize workflows for sheet metal fabrication and machining to improve productivity.
• Implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Drive quality improvements through innovative engineering practices.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure adherence to industry standards, including ISO 9001 and other relevant certifications.
• Monitor and enforce safety regulations within the department.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: 8+ years in engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role within the sheet metal or machining industry (CNC milling, lathe, stamping, cold heading, screw threading processes).
• Proficiency in SolidWorks/UG, CAD/CAM software and GD&T.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• In-depth understanding of precision machining and fabrication techniques.
• Proficiency in Mandarin is required as the role involves frequent collaboration with stakeholders based in China.
