Job summary
A leading port management company in Malaysia seeks a dedicated facility maintenance technician. Responsibilities include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical systems, supervising contractor work, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. Candidates must collaborate with various departments and participate in emergency maintenance efforts. This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency in a busy port environment and ensures reliable facility performance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues promptly.
- Oversee and coordinate third-party contractors.
- Monitor mechanical infrastructure for efficiency.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities.
- Close out completed tasks in the management system.
- Collaborate with other departments for support.
- Participate in emergency maintenance efforts as needed.
- Perform Routine Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Execute Corrective Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with Contractors: Oversee and coordinate third‑party contractors performing maintenance or repair work on mechanical systems.
- Ensure System Reliability: Monitor mechanical infrastructure to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation, including HVAC, fire protection, cargo lifts, fuel engine pumps, gensets and other facility systems.
- Maintain Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all maintenance activities, inspections, and contractor performance.
- Ensure that completed tasks are promptly closed out in the facility management system (Facility Bot) upon completion.
- Support Facility Operations: Work collaboratively with other departments to support overall facility performance and respond to maintenance related issues.
- Emergency Response: Participate in emergency maintenance and repair efforts as needed, including during off‑hours or on‑call shifts.
