A leading logistics company in Malaysia is seeking a Procurement Officer to manage vendor relationships, negotiate shipping rates, and support contract management. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1-2 years’ experience in procurement. Responsibilities include sourcing rates with vendors, preparing procurement reports, and ensuring compliance in documentation. Candidates must possess strong negotiation and communication skills while being detail-oriented and proactive in a fast-paced environment.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate rates with shipping lines, airlines, trucking companies, and other service providers.
Assist in vendor selection, onboarding, and maintaining updated supplier records.
Be the relationship holder with vendors and in between operations and vendors.
Support contract management and review agreements with freight and logistics providers.
Coordinate with the operations team to match procurement with customer requirements.
Track market trends, freight rates, and service availability to provide cost‑saving opportunities.
Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, invoices, and delivery notes.
Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate documentation for audit/compliance.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement process.
