Job summary

A Malaysian entertainment company is seeking a skilled Accounting Manager to manage daily operations of its accounting department. The candidate will oversee financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, and assist in budgeting and analysis. Ideal candidates should have a diploma or degree in Accounting, 2-3 years of relevant experience, and proficiency in Xero Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel. Excellent communication skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin are preferred.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Manage and assist in day-to-day operations of the accounting department including month‑end and year‑end financial reporting.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable (including cross‑check of invoices).
  • Prepare general ledger journals (payroll, prepayments, accruals, depreciation).
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
  • Monitor cash flow, banking and payment matters.
  • Conduct revenue and expenditure variance analysis.
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including related‑company account reconciliations.
  • Lead yearly group accounts consolidation.
  • Implement and improve internal controls and compliance processes.
  • Coordinate and prepare audit schedules, tax filings and regulatory submissions.
  • Liaise with the company secretary, maintaining proper filing of annual returns and secretarial documents in accordance with the Companies Act 2016.
  • Support finance‑related projects and ad‑hoc tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum diploma or degree in Accounting.
  • At least 2–3 years of relevant working experience, preferably with full set accounts (AP/GL/AR) for a group of companies.
  • Good speaking and writing skills in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin (preferred for managing stakeholders and legal documents in Chinese).
  • Proficiency in Xero Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel.
  • High initiative, detail‑oriented and able to meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Ability to start work immediately is an advantage.
