We are currently seeking a Software Engineer - Web and Mobile Application Design and Development to join our team in Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur (MY-14), Malaysia (MY).

The individual will be part of Channel and Data AI development team. The successful candidate is one who has deep understanding of the web and mobile application architecture & design, micro front‑end architecture, micro‑services architecture, API principles with hands‑on experience in app publishing, SDK integrations, analytics tools, BAU support and GenAI technologies.

• Contribute to the web and mobile application design and development.
• Understand and implement feature/user stories.
• Participate in the coding together with the application development team.
• Build deployment modules and CI/CD pipelines for SIT, UAT, and Production.
• Practice test‑driven development.
• Work with Kafka and MQ for event‑driven architecture.
• Plan & collaborate across different domain application teams to manage technical and security related dependencies of the solution.
• Plan, monitor and manage risks/issues related to technical application delivery and provide L3 support as needed.
• Partner with Test Manager/Testers to ensure completion of SIT, UAT, Non‑Functional Testing and Application Security Testing with quality outcomes.
• Constantly keep up with knowledge of new concepts, emerging technology, and architecture, and propose innovative solutions.
• Apply GenAI technologies to enhance code development, code review, testing and automate workflows.
• Problem‑solver with ability to see things from multiple angles and constantly push boundaries to improve the status quo. Will interact with specialist teams like security, compliance and facilitate workshops/meetings to resolve issues.
• Escalate issues that impact project schedule on a timely basis and propose workarounds/resolutions.
• Provide BAU (“Business‑As‑Usual”) support for existing applications, including:
  • Bug fixes
  • Performance tuning
  • Minor enhancements
  • Incident resolution and root cause analysis
• Manage app lifecycle, including:
  • Publishing to Apple App Store and Google Play Store
  • TestFlight and beta distribution
  • Versioning and release management
• Integrate and manage third‑party SDKs and plugins, including:
  • Firebase plugins
  • Google Analytics
  • Push Notifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or similar domain. Related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in web and mobile application development using agile or DevOps methodology.
• Strong proficiency and experience in Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Reactive, and Rest APIs.
• Strong hands‑on experience with:
  • Cordova and Capacitor
  • React Native and React Native for Web
  • Vue.js 2 and 3
  • TypeScript and JavaScript
  • Micro Frontend Architecture
  • AWS, VMware TAS
• Experience with Kafka, MQ and event‑driven systems.
• Conversant on SQL.
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) – advantage.
• Familiar with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) – advantage.
• Experience with iOS mobile apps management/development, ApplePay and other related services in the Apple ecosystem – advantage.
• Worked in a Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environment with strong appreciation of change/version control processes and methodologies.
• Worked with automation tools such as Selenium, SOAPUI, Bamboo, Jenkins, Ansible, Marvin, Github, Bitbucket, etc.
• Working knowledge of application design frameworks, UML or equivalent design artifacts is required.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, HPQC, ServiceNow).
• Knowledge of emerging technologies/platforms in Mobility, Analytics, Cloud, GenAI and AGI with a strong self‑initiative to keep up with digital trends.
• Application performance monitoring and tuning experience is desired.
• Working experience in a financial services industry and/or operating under strict regulatory constraints is an advantage.
• Worked on or have certification in cloud technologies – advantage.
• Good teamwork, good interpersonal and negotiation skills; ability to work independently is essential.
