A leading semiconductor technology firm in Malaysia is seeking a Senior Engineer, IT User Support to lead the IT support team. This role involves supervising daily activities, managing technical issues, and ensuring excellent customer service. Qualifications

Ultra Clean Technology (UCT) is a fast‑growing developer of gas delivery systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The company is setting up a new facility in Penang, Malaysia, and is looking for a Senior/Engineer, IT User Support to lead and manage the IT support team.

Position Overview

Senior / Engineer, IT User Support – Malaysia

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise IT support team, oversee daily activities, and ensure high‑quality service delivery.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, training and performance feedback to team members.
  • Assign tasks, manage priorities and balance workload across the team.
  • Act as escalation point for complex technical issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Track and report support metrics, ticket resolution times, and team performance.
  • Provide technical support for hardware, software, networks and other IT systems to local and global users.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems using diagnostic tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware components (desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals).
  • Install, configure, and update operating systems, applications, and drivers.
  • Create, modify and deactivate user accounts across systems and applications.
  • Assist in configuration and maintenance of LAN/WAN and other network infrastructure.
  • Manage door‑access, CCTV and employee clock‑in systems.
  • Assist with vendor management and procurement of hardware, software and services.
  • Document IT systems, procedures, and configurations; share knowledge with team and end‑users.
  • Conduct training sessions on IT best practices and tools.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage incident tickets, ensuring timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with IT security, data privacy and service delivery standards.
  • Provide excellent customer service with strong communication and empathy skills.
Required Experience and Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 4–5 years of IT support experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team‑lead role.
  • Experience in manufacturing or clean‑room environments is preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+/Network+, Microsoft certifications (M365, Windows) or equivalent preferred.
