As a CS Lecturer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of the next generation of CS professionals. Your responsibilities span teaching, curriculum development, research, and community engagement, aiming to deliver an outstanding educational experience. The candidates shall be a member of the staff of the Department of Computer Science (DCS) assigned by KICT and shall perform teaching, examining, and research duties and such other obligations normally required of an academic staff member of the IIUM.
The candidates should also undertake moral and religious obligations in relation to his colleagues and students as part and parcel of his duties as a member of the academic staff of IIUM.
As a lecturer and member of the academic staff, the candidate is required to attend any meetings related to administrative positions they may hold. This attendance is mandated by appointments made under the IIUM or through administrative directives issued by the Rector, Dean, or Head of the Kulliyyah / Centre / Department / Institute / Office / Mahallah.
Candidates must hold a Doctorate (PhD), Master’s, and Bachelor’s Degree in Computing from a recognised university. Malaysian applicants are welcome to apply, fostering a diverse and inclusive academic environment.
Particularly in a higher education context, they encompass a blend of academic qualifications, teaching abilities, research skills, and personal attributes that enable effective education delivery, student engagement, and contributions to the academic community. Prior experience in teaching and research in the higher education sector is an added advantage.
Candidates must possess a strong foundation and knowledge in computing. In addition to this essential expertise, proficiency or specialization in any of the following areas is highly desirable:
All candidates must have obtained:
a. Credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English Language (including oral examination) at Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) level or equivalent qualification recognized by the Government (for Malaysian citizens).
b. IELTS Band 6 / MUET Band 4. Candidates without any of these qualifications will be required to sit for the IIUM English Language Proficiency Test.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
A strong track record of published research and participation in the academic community is highly desirable.
