Job summary
A leading technology solutions provider in the United Kingdom is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer. This critical role demands strong experience in IT support, particularly within construction and engineering environments. The candidate will handle senior escalation points for IT issues, support server and networking environments, and provide on-site assistance regularly. A full UK manual driving licence is essential for this position, alongside excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience in IT support or engineering.
- Stron server, networking, and security knowledge.
- Experience in construction, engineering, or site-based environments.
- Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
- Full UK manual driving licence and own vehicle.
Responsibilities
- Act as the senior escalation point for IT issues.
- Support server, network, and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Provide on-site IT support at least one day per week.
- Support construction and engineering software.
- Maintain network infrastructure and connectivity.
- Ensure IT compliance standards are met.
- Improve IT documentation and best practices.
- Provide helpdesk cover when required.

Our client, Gallagher Group, is seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer to act as a key escalation point within the IT team. This role involves advanced technical support across office and construction‑site environments and suits someone who enjoys hands‑on responsibility and site presence.
- Acting as senior escalation point for IT issues
- Supporting server, network, and Microsoft 365 environments
- Minimum one day per week providing on‑site IT support
- Supporting specialist construction and engineering software
- Maintaining network infrastructure and connectivity
- Supporting IT compliance standards (Cyber Essentials, GDPR, PCI DSS)
- Improving IT documentation and best practices
- Providing helpdesk cover when required
- 5+ years’ experience in IT support or engineering
