Reporting to Senior Communications Manager, BRC, the post-holder will provide effective and professional support for the development and implementation of the BRC's Events, Marketing and Engagement Strategy. The post-holder will lead on the design and implementation of events, marketing and social media campaigns working closely with the BRC Senior Communications Manager.
Duties will include market research; report writing; undertaking user surveys; organisation of conferences/events both in person and online and consultations.
The post-holder will need strong negotiation and influencing skills in engaging with a range of internal audiences and external stakeholders, where cooperation and agreement is needed on key projects. This would include working with the Senior Business Development Manager to engage industry, as well as being an advocate for public involvement in translational biomedical research through collaboration with other relevant groups and initiatives.
The post-holder will demonstrate competency and diplomacy in developing strong working relationships internally and externally, and deliver high standards of work. Key relationships will include the BRC's Director, Head of Operations, Senior Communications Manager, Public and Community Involvement, Engagement and Participation Lead, and other members of the BRC core management team, as well as BRC Theme liaisons and the OUH Media and Communications Team, including Oxford Medical Illustration.
The post-holder will also be expected to maintain a close working relationship with the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) infrastructure, both locally and nationally, as well as the communications and public engagement counterparts in OUH, the University of Oxford Medical Sciences Division, Oxford Brookes University and other partners.

Key Responsibilities:
The post-holder will be required to:
Advise senior managers on a range of issues relating to Trust and NIHR policy and processes around events and marketing, including social networking sites.
Monitor traffic on the BRC's social media accounts and those of key partners and respond as appropriate.
Assess annual events and marketing priorities, and develop, implement and evaluate marketing communications projects.
Be responsible for network/ relationship marketing.
Be responsible for identifying costs and tracking budgets of marketing campaigns.
Promote and administer strong relationships with a range of stakeholders internal and external to the OUH, liaising with the CEO's office, Chair and other senior staff as appropriate.
Work without direct supervision and act autonomously on events and marketing campaigns and web developments.
Comply with data protection legislation and the Trust's information governance and patient/public confidentiality policies, taking account of these when writing and publishing events and marketing data.
Work with the BRC Business Development team in researching and evaluating potential new markets.
Keep the BRC Management Team regularly informed of the results of user involvement feedback activities, and of the associated action plans, preparing formal reports and seeking their approval as required.
Work out of hours (evenings and weekends) as required to deliver and support corporate activities and to represent the BRC at external events and networks.
Full clean driving licence.
