Job Description:
The Voice Systems Engineer will provide the highest level of support for troubleshooting incidents and will update problem records in an incident tracking system. This person will help train and mentor other team members. They may also participate in projects with significant business impact, requiring coordination and communication with other departments inside and outside of IT. The ideal candidate will have at least ten years of experience in an IT discipline, including at least three years of hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Communications Applications such as Collaboration, Teleco, and Call Center systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the IT Infrastructure Team to deploy, monitor, maintain, develop, upgrade, and support IT systems, focusing on enterprise communication solutions, Microsoft Active Directory, and externally hosted systems.
- Lead Telecom, Call Center, and Voice Systems as the primary owner of these applications.
- Collaborate with IT Infrastructure Services to deploy, monitor, maintain, develop, upgrade, and support Microsoft 365 Environment, including Teams, SharePoint, and Azure AD.
- Keep infrastructure systems updated and secure.
- Benchmark, analyze, report, and recommend improvements for IT infrastructure and systems.
- Provision solutions to support technical operations teams and users.
- Work with stakeholders to define business and system requirements for new technology implementations.
- Stay current with the latest technologies through training and education.
- Develop and implement IT policies and procedures related to architecture, security, disaster recovery, and service provisioning.
- Practice asset management for hardware and software.
- Train and mentor team members.
- Participate actively in ensuring systems meet business needs.
- Coordinate infrastructure development to support business strategies and growth.
- Translate business needs into system solutions, maximizing available tools and ensuring supportability.
- Participate in the selection, installation, operation, support, and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
- Be available to work any shifts and for on-call support.
Qualifications:
- At least three years of experience in IT with hands-on experience in communications infrastructure and Active Directory.
- Experience managing, designing, and configuring Telecommunications Systems (PBX, VoIP, SIP).
- Experience in a Microsoft environment, including Active Directory, GPO, Server 2012R2 and newer.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and email systems.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with Contact Center / Call Center systems is a plus.
- Experience with Mitel Voice Systems is a plus.
- Experience with VMWare and Veeam environments is a plus.
- Experience with Cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is a plus.
- Experience with PowerShell and automation/scripting technologies is a plus.
- Degree in Computer/Information Science, Security, or a technical field.
- Technical certifications (VMware, Microsoft, AWS, Google) are a plus.
- Equivalent technical experience may substitute for a degree or certification.
