Project Context

We are partnering with Metrolinx on the Yonge North Subway Extension project, which will extend TTC’s Line 1 by nearly eight kilometers north from Finch Station to Richmond Hill, including five new stations.

Role Overview

We seek an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead planning, design, and construction of underground transit stations, overseeing all project phases to ensure compliance with budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. Expertise in underground infrastructure, stakeholder management, and large-scale project execution is essential.

Main Duties

1. Lead end-to-end delivery of underground transit station projects from concept to commissioning.
2. Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineers, designers, consultants, and contractors.
3. Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
4. Ensure regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance.
5. Coordinate with city, municipal, provincial agencies, utility companies, and community stakeholders.
6. Establish and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, surveyors, property and planning consultants, contractors, and vendors.
7. Oversee procurement processes, including RFQs, RFPs, contract negotiations, and vendor management, especially with progressive contract models like PDB and Alliance.
8. Monitor construction progress, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions.
9. Prepare and present reports to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
10. Champion sustainability, innovation, and best practices in underground transit design and construction.

Required Profile / Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering, design management, and construction delivery.
• Strong understanding of design principles and engineering methodologies.
• Experience managing large civil engineering or rapid transit projects.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and large contractors.
• Experience with progressive contract models such as PDB and / or Alliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
