The General Manager of Kiltech and Energy Management Optimization Consultancy and Operations has overall responsibility for SMARDT's Kiltech division globally. This role involves establishing and managing the Energy Management Optimization consultancy and offerings, including operational controls, chiller and central plant optimization, and energy management systems. The role requires implementing strategies aligned with operational goals while exceeding customer expectations for quality, cost, and service. The GM will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, manage teams, and provide leadership to maximize efficiency, productivity, and operational excellence. Collaboration with SMARDT Chiller controls and TICA’s FUCA division is essential to ensure alignment and optimization of products and operations, maximizing chiller and central plant optimization. The GM will also coordinate with other energy management leaders across SMARDT and TICA organizations.
MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Development :
- Develop a turnkey Energy Management Consultancy (EMC) implementation and energy management consulting business under Kiltech.
- Launch and grow the energy management consulting business.
- Transition the business from a product-based to an energy solutions focus.
- Specialize in chilled water, refrigeration, heating systems (steam and hot water), and compressed air.
- Deliver energy efficiency and energy management consulting and training services.
- Assess challenges, mitigate risks, and develop business opportunities.
- Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budgeting.
- Participate in developing Kiltech's five-year strategy supporting growth in equipment revenue and profitability.
- Address PMI contract challenges and restore client relationships.
- Expand integrated outcome-based offerings, including technical and financial solutions, and align with ESG and net-zero goals.
- Leverage CPECS software, cloud integration, and energy modeling tools.
- Develop Energy as a Service (EaaS) models, owning and operating assets to sell usage of hot water, chilled water, or compressed air, with appropriate commercial structures.
- Incorporate emerging technologies like ORC and geothermal into ECMs.
General and Task Management :
- Implement a customer-focused operational culture with world-class service.
- Support project management and cross-functional activities.
- Set and report on business targets and KPIs.
- Identify and execute growth strategies.
Human Resources Management :
- Act as the primary liaison between the TICA Board and Kiltech employees.
- Build and restructure the team to support growth.
- Lead, mentor, and develop staff to ensure high performance and continuous improvement.
- Set departmental objectives in collaboration with HR.
- Oversee financial performance, budgets, and compliance.
- Ensure yearly growth in EBITDA and revenue, balancing investments and profitability.
Relationship Management :
- Develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
- Report activities and KPIs regularly to senior management.
- Negotiate and collaborate with key stakeholders and develop new business opportunities globally.
