The successful candidate will manage the company's social media presence across various platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, creating engaging content and responding to customer queries. Social Media Coordinator
Dis-Chem Pharmacies Head Office – Johannesburg Metropolitan Area
Grade 12 – Matric or a Senior Certificate.
Diploma in Marketing / Digital Marketing / Communications or related field.
Minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a similar capacity in either an agency or corporate setting.
Retail Marketing experience.
Co-ordinate and maintain the social media business presence across various targeted social media channels.
Provide ongoing oversight and coordination of all aspects regarding social interfaces such as content, broadsheets, analysis, new ideas (contests, promos, online / social exclusives etc.), lead generation and content syndication methods.
Stay up-to-date with social media trends and changes to algorithms and adjust implementations accordingly.
Assist in planning, organising and executing social media activities within the business.
Ensure maintenance and updates of content for social media campaigns.
Ensure that social media campaigns are executed parallel to the marketing calendar.
Support event awareness on the relevant social media channels.
Provide suggestions on new ways to attract prospective customers through engagement, promotions and competitions.
Design posts to sustain readers' curiosity and create buzz around new products.
Regularly track and monitor the company's online reputation and social media presence, responding appropriately to both positive and negative reviews and comments.
Monitor internet for brand-related topics of conversation.
Collaborate with other departments, such as marketing and customer service, to ensure brand consistency and gather content to be used across all channels.
Actively engage with and respond to followers and customers through various social media platforms to foster a strong community of supporters.
Use social media analytics tools to track and report on the performance of social media campaigns.
Manage multiple social media accounts across various platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.
Knowledge of social media influencer marketing and how to identify and engage with influencers in relevant industries or niches.
Research audience preferences and discover current trends.
Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures.
Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.
Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
Cognitive skills – planning abilities, able to analyse data and solve problems.
Business acumen – awareness of industry trends and competitor activity.
An understanding of target audiences.
Communication skills – excellent written and verbal communication with team members and other departments.
Interpersonal skills – collaborative mindset and ability to work well with others.
Quality orientation – attention to detail in content creation and curation; desire to continuously improve and optimise social media campaigns.
Self-management skills – time-management skills to meet deadlines with adaptability and flexibility to meet changing deadlines.
Technical skills – proficiency in social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn; knowledge of social media management tools like Hootsuite, Falcon, Sprout or similar; familiarity with social media analytics tools.
