Role Purpose
Oversee the end-to-end operational management of the Broker Region through effective people and region management to foster excellence in client centricity, increase productivity, and align operational sales and client services.
Minimum Requirements
- FSB recognised qualification listed or credits pertaining to the date of first appointment in the industry, as published for recognised qualification, to fulfil the duties of a compliant supervisor.
- FAIS Key Individual Regulatory Exam Level 1 passed
- FAIS Representative Regulatory Exam Level 5 passed
- Valid driver’s license and own transport
- 5 years' sales management experience in a similar role in the life insurance industry
- 4 years' management experience, including overseeing financial advice rendering and being registered with the FSB
- Understanding of financial services retail distribution channel business
- Ability to speak African languages or be multilingual (preferred)
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage operational plans for the Broker Region, aligned with overall business strategy.
- Develop and manage a risk management strategy ensuring compliance with legislation.
- Manage delivery and implementation of projects impacting the region.
- Identify entrepreneurial opportunities, trends, threats, and environmental influences.
- Manage regional sales targets and interpret emerging market trends.
- Reduce wastage through fraud prevention, resource management, and policy claims ratio control.
- Ensure compliance with legislative and internal standards.
- Ensure efficient client service and administrative processes.
- Manage Broker Consultants' activities, market access, and performance.
- Utilize systems to monitor financial performance and develop sales plans.
- Support Broker Consultants’ development and performance standards.
- Recruit, select, and retain high-quality Broker Consultants.
- Maintain high standards of professional image and documentation support.
- Analyze profitability and implement improvement plans.
- Report on sales performance and foster stakeholder relationships.
- Engage with stakeholders to adapt to client needs.
- Drive a client service culture and introduce new client interaction channels.
- Create a positive work environment, develop a People Capability plan, and manage employee growth, recognition, and performance.
- Manage budgets and financial regulations, and handle high-risk financial issues.
