External Sales Representative required in Centurion. A very well-established national company is looking for an External Sales Representative to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in Centurion. Position Overview:
The purpose of the Sales Representative role is to strategically drive sales and enhance profitability by cultivating and securing business from both current and potential clients through a relationship-centric approach. This role is integral to maximizing market share, aligning with the company's mission, and realizing its objectives, all while delivering value to stakeholders. By leveraging a combination of strategic market analysis, personalized customer engagement, and the effective use of the Dynamics CRM platform, Sales Representatives are tasked with not only meeting sales targets but also fostering lasting business relationships that contribute to the overall success and growth of the company.
Position Requirements:
- Comprehensive knowledge and experience in external sales within diverse business activities.
- High quality and successful record of achievement in sales, including strategizing, marketing, new business development, etc.
- The Sales Representative is expected to proactively develop new customers through cold calling, email outreach, market research, and actively solving customer problems.
- A relevant degree or diploma in sales studies is preferred; or a minimum of seven years of related experience in sales of fasteners and related products or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience.
- Proven ability to promote products.
- Experience in sales strategies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, plus a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is required.
- Above average command in at least two of the Official Languages in South Africa.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information.
- Valid unendorsed driver's license.
Key Performance Areas:
- Sales & Profitability: Surpass sales and gross profit targets as per the financial year's sales budget specific to the Epping branch. Actively seek and develop new business opportunities by establishing and nurturing relationships with both current and prospective clients, focusing on expanding the customer base for our product offerings.
- Collaborate with sales management, telesales, coordinators, and dispatch departments to align sales strategies and efforts, ensuring a cohesive approach to achieving sales targets.
- Employ a structured personal sales strategy, prioritizing daily customer visits and cold calls, aimed at maximizing company sales targets.
- Stay informed about product applications, market conditions, and promotional trends, utilizing this knowledge to enhance sales approaches and customer interactions.
Customer Relations:
- Engage in daily outreach activities, including telephone calls and in-person visits, to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
- Develop and present clear, effective proposals and quotations for current and prospective customers, tailored to their specific needs and preferences.
Administration:
- Diligently submit accurate and timely reports (general information, monthly, and weekly reports) and recommendations to sales management, ensuring all details are correct and relevant.
- Utilize Dynamics CRM for logging customer interactions, including calls and meeting notes, ensuring comprehensive tracking and management of customer relationships.
- This also involves planning, feedback provision, reporting to managers, and appropriate escalation of issues. All activities, including customer development and problem-solving efforts, must be logged in Dynamics CRM.
Corporate Policies:
Strictly adhere to all company policies, procedures, and decisions, ensuring compliance and integrity in all sales activities.
Public Relations:
Foster and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and managers within the branch, contributing to a collaborative work environment. Act as a brand ambassador, promoting and enhancing the company's image through exceptional customer service and engagement. Strategically meet with management to discuss and plan for the company's future growth and direction, ensuring alignment with overall goals. Address customer service complaints promptly and effectively, ensuring resolutions that maintain customer satisfaction and loyalty.
ISO / Occupational Health and Safety:
Ensure adherence to and enforcement of all company and statutory policies and regulations concerning quality management and occupational health and safety. Educate and equip staff with the necessary knowledge and tools to comply with safety standards and SABS recommendations, fostering a safe and compliant workplace.
