A retail company in Durban is seeking a competent Store Manager to supervise and lead the team effectively while ensuring compliance with company policies. Responsibilities include managing stock flow, authorizing transactions, handling customer inquiries, and performing daily administrative tasks. The ideal candidate should be proactive, with strong communication skills, as they will also oversee staff management and ensure the store remains fully stocked. This position demands strong leadership in a fast-paced retail environment.
Store Manager Role
The primary objective of this position is to supervise and lead the team effectively, adhering to established policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Ensure all stock is received, unpacked, and processed correctly.
Verify that all stock is properly tagged according to company guidelines.
Manage the flow of stock in and out of the stockroom, maintaining optimal inventory levels.
Replenish stock on the shop floor regularly, ensuring sufficient stock levels at all times.
This role involves the management of stock, including monitoring best-seller reports, maintaining accurate quantities, and returning rejected items to the warehouse.
The incumbent will also be responsible for authorizing transactions, handling customer complaints and inquiries, and performing daily administrative tasks such as payouts, reporting, and cash flow management.
Arrive 20 minutes before the start of the shift to prepare adequately.
Effectively communicate with both the management team and staff.
Comply with lawful instructions issued by the manager / head office and ensure timely completion of tasks.
In the absence of the manager, the incumbent will be responsible for opening and closing the store on Sundays and public holidays or during their leave.
Develop and manage staff effectively within the store.
Oversee the control and merchandising of stock within the stockroom.
