Our client, a leading brokerage firm, is seeking a highly experienced leader to head their Algorithmic Trading Development team. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with commercial acumen to drive the evolution of the electronic trading capabilities.

• Platform Strategy & Development: Lead the design and development of the next-generation algorithmic trading platform and strategy framework. This includes modernizing existing platforms and ensuring resilience and scalability.
• Strategy Enhancement: Collaborate closely with the Quantitative Research team and trading desks to enhance existing strategies, integrate novel signals (including AI/ML driven insights), and develop customized execution strategies for institutional clients.
• Leadership & Management: Provide strong people and project management, including prioritization, resource allocation, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and internal audit requirements.
• System Optimization: Drive performance tuning and design for complex, high-throughput systems across the full stack (application, OS, network).
• Advisory & Quality: Act as an Algo advisory resource for the business and ensure high-quality delivery through code reviews and mentoring.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams responsible for market data, connectivity, and execution management to deliver end-to-end solutions.

• Experience: 15+ years of progressive experience in developing complex, high-performance trading systems, with a significant focus on algorithmic trading platforms and execution strategies. Open to consider more junior candidates (8-15 years) for an IC role in the team.
• Leadership: 3+ years of direct team leadership experience within a demanding financial services environment.
• Technical Depth: Extensive experience in designing and tuning high-performance, low-latency systems. Proficiency with system-level performance tuning across programming languages, operating systems, and network infrastructure (switches, protocols, etc.).
• Education: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is required; an advanced degree is highly desirable.
• Analytical Skills: Superior problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, and strong professional proficiency in Chinese.
• Culture: A proven ability to foster a collaborative, high‑impact team culture where individuals are empowered to make a meaningful contribution.

Practical experience applying Machine Learning or AI techniques to enhance execution strategy performance.
