Plant Director (Food Manufacturing)
Job summary
A renowned food production company in Malaysia, Perak, is seeking a highly experienced leader to oversee full plant operations. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient production of high-quality food products, managing financial performance, and maintaining strong compliance with food safety standards. The ideal candidate has 10-15 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in food processing, and is skilled in leadership and strategic financial management. Qualifications
- 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in food processing or FMCG.
- Capability in leading large‑scale production operations.
- In‑depth knowledge of HACCP, ISO, GMP, and food safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic and operational leadership for plant productivity and efficiency.
- Manage plant financial performance and budget.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and statutory requirements.
- Foster collaboration across functions and mentor the workforce.

Education
Lead and oversee the full spectrum of plant operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable production of high-quality food products. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, cost efficiencies, regulatory compliance, and organisational capability while upholding the Company’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values.
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the plant to achieve high levels of productivity, efficiency, and output quality.
- Manage plant financial performance, including budgeting, cost management, and delivery of profitability targets.
- Champion continuous improvement, innovation, and automation to strengthen operational capability and competitiveness.
- Ensure full compliance with statutory requirements, food safety expectations, and relevant standards (e.g. HACCP, ISO, GMP).
- Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Supply Chain, and other supporting functions.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the plant workforce to build high-performance teams and a strong safety culture.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with regulatory bodies, certification authorities, and external partners.
- Anticipate market trends, operational risks, and capacity constraints; implement timely solutions and cost-effective improvements.
- Undertake any other tasks, duties, or special assignments as directed by Management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
- At least 10–15 years of experience in manufacturing operations; experience in food processing or FMCG is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated capability in leading large‑scale, high‑volume production operations.
- Strong leadership qualities with proven ability to influence, manage, and develop people at all levels.
- In‑depth knowledge of HACCP, ISO, GMP, and food safety management systems and regulations.
- Strong financial literacy with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and operational P&L.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Integrity‑driven, resilient, and adaptable to fast‑paced, dynamic business environments.
