A leading electronics firm in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Sr/Mechanical Design Engineer to create detailed 3D CAD designs for semiconductor and medical products. Qualifications

Job description

Sr/ Mechanical Design Engineer (Design Center)

• Create concept and detailed 3D CAD design of semiconductor lithography machine, electrical cabinets, rack system, printed circuit board assembly (PCBA), consumer and medical product design according to customer requirements or recognized industry standards.

• Create concept and detailed 3D CAD design of cable/bundle routing and design, machine frame structural design, sheet metal design, machining part design, die cast part design and plastic enclosure parts.

• Create and review technical performance documentation (TPDs) including 2D drawing etc.

• Create or support senior/staff mechanical engineers for design review documentation, including performance specification, design specification, critical design review document, test specification and report etc.

• Support senior/staff mechanical engineers for daily mechanical tasks (detail design CAD modelling, prototype build, verification testing etc.).

• Collaborate with other engineers from different industries: System Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Fabrication Technicians and Field Service Engineers.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree, Professional Engineering Degree, majoring in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Min 1-5 years of relevant experience as a mechanical design engineer, electro-mechanical engineer, or mechanical drafter.
• Familiar with mechanical engineering drawing standards (i.e. ASME, ISO etc.)
• Familiar with part manufacturing process such as sheet metal forming, milling/wire cutting process, welding/brazing process, cable harness assembly process, die casting process, and plastic injection moulding process.
• Experience in using CAD and product life cycle management software, preferably Siemens NX, Solidworks, CREO, Teamcenter, Windchill, Solidworks PDM or equivalent.
• Good communication skill and good command of the English language (both written and verbal).
• Experience in designing semiconductor machine and familiar with SEMI standards will be added advantage.
• Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering will be added advantage.
