About the role

The Assistant Finance Manager will support group finance activities, focusing on reviewing accounts (AR, AP, GL), performing balance sheet reconciliations, and managing monthly closings for Malaysia and Singapore. The role ensures timely collections, accurate reporting, tax compliance, and efficient tax planning. Responsibilities also include reviewing intercompany transactions, performing group consolidation, and supporting cash flow reporting across eight countries.

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversee accounting functions (AR, AP, GL) and ensure timely collection processes for Malaysia and Singapore.
2. Maintain and reconcile balance sheet schedules monthly for these countries.
3. Supervise the monthly closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and establish clear processes and accounting treatments.
4. Review tax reporting and payments, ensure timely submissions, monitor tax planning, and recommend improvements.
5. Review intercompany transactions for accuracy and proper eliminations.
6. Perform group consolidation and financial analysis, including management accounts, payroll, and cash flow reports across 8 countries.
7. Consolidate cash flow reports from subsidiaries.
8. Support group audit activities, including preparing financial statements and schedules.
9. Manage corporate secretarial matters and liaise with banks.
10. Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
11. Support financial and tax due diligence during fundraising.
12. Handle ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in accounting and finance, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or reviewer role.
• Strong knowledge of full set accounting (AR, AP, GL) and group consolidation.
• Familiarity with intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Hands-on experience with financial reporting, cash flow management, and tax compliance.
• Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., Oracle) and MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
• Experience in a fast-growing regional startup (e-commerce), audit experience, or insurance/fintech is a plus.
• Critical thinking skills and a growth mindset.
• Self-starter with practical, hands-on experience.
• High attention to detail and control-oriented mindset.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
