Leadership Opportunity – Market Leader

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal guidance and opinions to support all business units and stakeholders.
• Lead the drafting, reviewing, and negotiation of distressed asset agreements, M&A documents, and various commercial contracts.
• Manage end-to-end legal documentation for corporate transactions, including term sheets, SPAs, SSAs, NDAs, shareholders' agreements, subscription and investment agreements, and loan facilities.
• Develop legal frameworks for market expansion and oversee entity formation and shareholding structuring.
• Prepare and coordinate regulatory licensing applications across multiple jurisdictions.
• Advise on data protection compliance and oversee intellectual property matters.
• Monitor team performance against SLA targets and undertake additional tasks as delegated by the supervisor.

A successful Chief Legal Officer should have:

• At least 8 to 10 years of relevant experience. Advantageous experience in lending, finance, and fintech sectors.
• Strong foundation in contract law with solid drafting and negotiation skills. Preferred experience in M&A transactions and data privacy matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Demonstrates strong commercial judgment and practical risk assessment.
• Highly attuned to stakeholder needs with effective prioritisation skills.
• Able to work independently while handling a wide and demanding workload.
• Familiarity with APAC legal environments is preferred.
