A leading consumer goods company in Indonesia is seeking an experienced Export and Import Supervisor. The role requires strong expertise in customs regulations, logistics coordination, and documentation management. Ideal candidates should possess 3-5 years of supervisory experience in the FMCG industry, a relevant degree, and proficiency in ERP systems. This position is pivotal in ensuring compliance and optimizing logistics operations.
Monitor and apply current customs laws, trade agreements, and documentation requirements.
Guarantee all import/export activities meet legal and regulatory standards.
Liaise with freight forwarders, customs brokers, suppliers, and internal teams.
Manage shipment schedules, booking, tracking, and documentation.
Analyze shipping routes, negotiate with service providers, and review freight costs.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and improved transit times.
Prepare and verify invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and customs declarations.
Ensure completeness and accuracy of all trade-related documents.
Investigate delays, discrepancies, or customs holds and coordinate corrective actions.
Provide timely solutions to minimize disruption.
Participate in process reviews, system upgrades, and training programs.
Contribute ideas and feedback to enhance efficiency and compliance.
Experienced with 3‑5 years handled Export and Import supervisory position on Fast Moving Consumer Goods Industry
Bachelor or Master Degree's from any discipline
Deep understanding of customs regulations, HS codes, incoterms, and trade agreements. Ability to interpret and apply import/export laws across different countries.
Proficiency in vessel booking, freight forwarding, and container management. Familiarity with port operations, transit time planning, and carrier negotiation.
Expertise in preparing and reviewing: Commercial invoices, Packing lists, Certificates of origin, Bill of lading / airway bill, Customs declarations and strong attention to detail to avoid errors that lead to clearance delays or penalties.
Hands‑on experience with SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems for export/import transactions and Familiarity with e‑customs platforms, EDI systems, and document tracking tools.
Ability to analyze shipment data, lead times, and cost trends using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools and competence in generating KPI dashboards and exception reports to support decision‑making.
Understanding of demurrage, detention, and freight cost structures and skills in identifying cost drivers and implementing corrective actions.
Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies and ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive actions for recurring issues.
Strong coordination skills with internal teams (planning, warehouse, finance) and external partners (forwarders, customs brokers).
