Job Description

Our client, an affordable housing organization, requires a Senior Operations Property Manager to join their expanding property services team. The role involves managing and leading a team of surveying staff to oversee their affordable housing portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering regional repairs, voids, planned investments, and major works programs, ensuring these are completed to targets and standards related to revenue, cost, quality, and time, in line with the organization's repairs and investment strategy.

This role also includes overseeing contractor performance, managing complex contractor relations to increase overall deliverables and value for money. It is primarily a home-based position with occasional meetings for contractor performance reviews and office management.

You will manage a multi-disciplinary and diverse surveying team across a wide geographical area and oversee allocated budgets. Key duties include:

  1. Developing and maintaining strategic relationships with key partners to deliver customer-focused planned investment, major repairs, responsive, and void repairs, creating a seamless service.
  2. Leading the appointment and management of sustainable partnerships, ensuring contractors, including specialists, are resilient and profitable while delivering quality services.
  3. Developing and embedding processes and procedures based on data evaluation.
  4. Collaborating with senior department members at both regional and organizational levels.
  5. Managing the surveying team.
Candidate Requirements
  • Educated to HND level or equivalent, with a professional qualification in construction, housing, or property.
  • Experience at a senior level delivering planned investment programs, major works, and responsive repairs.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across wide geographical areas.
  • Experience managing large service budgets.
  • Knowledge of building law, regulations, contracts, contract law, health and safety legislation, and best practices.
  • Experience reporting to executive management teams and board levels.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a development management team.
  • High IT literacy, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Full clean UK driving license, with willingness to travel to different sites as needed.
