The Hertie School in Berlin prepares
exceptional students for leadership positions in government, business, and civil society. The school offers master’s programmes, executive education and doctoral programmes, distinguished by interdisciplinary and practice-oriented teaching, as well as outstanding research. We are looking to fill the position of
Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/div) - AFAR (Algorithmic Fairness for Asylum-Seekers and Refugees) project
part-time (32 hours/week).
The contract shall commence as of 01 September 2024 and is limited to 12 months. The successful candidate will be based at the Hertie School Berlin as a member of the School’s Centre for Fundamental Rights.
The AFAR (Algorithmic Fairness for Asylum-Seekers and Refugees) research project is funded by the Volkswagen Foundation as part of its "Challenges for Europe" programme. The project commenced on October 2021 and a range of research has been published and is in preparation. This role is for the final year of the AFAR project.
The position is designed to enable an early career legal scholar of human rights and artificial intelligence (AI) to engage with the AFAR project, both developing an individual research output in this field, and working to support the project research and science communication activities in the final stages of the project.
