Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Java Backend Engineer for our engineering team in Leipzig, who enjoys solving complex and interesting problems. The right person for this role has solid Backend engineering experience and knows Java and Spring Framework very well. This role involves hands-on, high-quality coding for high-performing and highly available distributed systems. Experience with React Redux frontend technologies is beneficial but not essential, as you'll be part of a cross-functional team.

- Share ideas for new features and collaborate with product management - be creative. Your ingenuity and commitment matter to us!
- Create and nurture complete functional groups from frontend to backend, focusing on scalability and security;
- Develop, implement, test, and demonstrate new features within an agile process;
- Understand how to improve usability, performance, and quality assurance.
Who are you?
- You have a degree in computer science, engineering, or an equivalent practical qualification.
- You have at least 6 years of experience in Java Backend software development in a service-oriented environment.
- You possess excellent knowledge and experience with Java (8+), Spring (Boot), HTTP, API design, SQL databases, and UML.
- You are an expert in software testing, with a strong focus on automation (TDD experience is a plus).
- You have experience in developing microservices.
- You have good knowledge of Apache Kafka.
- You have experience with DevOps and are familiar with service monitoring tools (a plus).
- You are curious, eager to get things done, and driven to further develop yourself. You enjoy challenges and have fun at work. You are a strong communicator with very good English skills, both written and verbal.
