A health care organization in Canada is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their interprofessional health care team. As an LPN, you will provide safe and quality care in a correctional environment, utilizing your nursing skills and critical thinking abilities. The role requires completion of an accredited nursing program, BCLS certification, and at least 1 year of relevant experience. Attractive salary ranging from $27.58 to $36.13 per hour is offered, along with a maximum Remote Retention Allowance.
In addition to a competitive rate of pay, AHS currently has a Remote Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay. This position has transitioned to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Minimum 1 year experience working within a correctional environment. Able to meet physical demands such as prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs., pushing, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and/or transferring patients. Must be self-directed and have the ability to work independently and using sound professional judgment. Must be able to communicate findings in a concise and accurate manner. Must have the ability to adapt quickly to changing and fluctuating priorities and workload. Must have excellent assessment, critical thinking, organization and patient care skills.
