We are accessible via bus routes, with a stop just outside the hotel, and we also provide employee pickups from the UBCO bus loop.

What will you be doing?

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, you will perform general maintenance repairs at both properties. Responsibilities include maintaining public spaces, identifying repair needs, responding to maintenance requests, and servicing equipment.

• Respond to guest and staff-reported defects, carrying a radio at all times.
• Communicate with guests and staff to resolve maintenance issues promptly and professionally.
• Perform basic tasks such as troubleshooting TVs and equipment, painting, filling crevices, changing light bulbs and filters, managing repairs, and cleaning the repair area.
• Inspect machinery, equipment, or appliances and perform repairs as needed.
• Detect and report major maintenance needs.
• Operate all utility shut-off valves and equipment controls.
• Monitor pool equipment and chemical levels, reporting issues to the Maintenance Manager.
• Assist with seasonal exterior maintenance, including shoveling, salting sidewalks, outdoor landscaping, and seasonal displays.
• Maintain a professional appearance and uphold confidentiality and company assets.
• Follow safety policies and report hazards.
• Use computers to enter and locate work-related information.
• Maintain exterior cleanliness, power wash sidewalks, and assist with garbage removal.
• Sweep underground parking areas as required.
• Utilize maintenance request systems like Empower and Kipsu.
• Assist with hotel shuttle services as needed.
• Respond to emergencies such as fire alarms, power outages, and gas leaks.
• Perform other duties as outlined by the Maintenance Manager.

What are we looking for?

• Previous hotel maintenance experience is advantageous.
• Ability to troubleshoot and assess maintenance needs.
• Physical ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds, with assistance for heavier items, including reaching, bending, twisting, and climbing ladders.
